After some confusion, a band member told the fans, “Sorry, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the show is not to continue. Very sorry.” Initially, there was a vague mention of the show being postponed to a TBD date, but it has been removed from the venue’s website. Fans have not been given refunds, and just two days after the stalled show, he announced that his planned February album release has been delayed.

Springsteen Guarantees a Good TimeBruce Springsteen is speaking out about the criticism he received around the pricing controversy over tickets for his upcoming tour. The Boss says in the past, he’s always told his team to see what others are charging and to charge less. But this time, due to his age, he wanted to do what others are doing. Enter dynamic pricing. He owns the decision and promises fans it will be worth it, stating, “if there’s any complaints on the way out, you can have your money back.”

Breaking Down the Taylor Swift Ticket Frenzy

Hard to believe that it was just a week ago that Taylor Swift broke Ticketmaster with The Eras Tour tickets. So much has happened over the last seven days that we feel like we have whiplash. In case you’ve been living under a rock (aka have been working on-site), here’s a breakdown:

  • Tuesday, Nov 15: Ticketmaster opens up their Verified Fan Presale for tour dates across the US. Due to “unprecedented demand,” fans wait for hours in interminable queues, the Ticketmaster site crashes, Swifties take to social media with some incredible memes, west coast pre-sales are postponed to later in the afternoon or the following day, and politicians start to call (again) for a breakup of TM/Live Nation, citing a monopoly. Ticket brokers secure plenty of inventory.

  • Thursday, Nov 17: Ticketmaster cancels public sale due to overwhelming demand. Lefsetz reminds us that Taylor is popular, software is fallible, and there’s nothing to talk about.

  • Friday, Nov 18: Taylor apologizes to fans, saying she’s just as angry as they are. Ticketmaster also apologizes.

  • Saturday, Nov 19: The Eras Tour Onsale Explained (by Ticketmaster).

  • Sunday, Nov 20: Taylor sweeps the AMAs, winning all 6 awards she was nominated for, including Artist of the Year.

Variety predicted that the 52-date tour - Swift’s biggest to date - will outgross her Reputation Stadium Tour, which grossed $266,100,000 over 38 dates and is the highest-grossing US tour -- and that was a week before tickets went on sale.

Further proof that this is Taylor’s world, and we’re all just living in it.
